  Sn(eta-Cp(s))Cl [Cp(s) = -C(5)Me(4)(SiMe(2)Bu(t))] reacts with SnCl2 in thf solution to yield the novel polyionic species [Sn-9(eta-Cp(s))(6)Cl-12] 1 which is characterised by solid- and solution-state multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and additionally by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
