Reaction of Na[Mo(CO)(3)(eta(5)-C5H5)] with CoCl(PPh(3))(3) in tetrahydrofuran yielded an unusual heterobimetallic compound [MoCo(CO)(5)(PPh(3))(2)(eta(5)-C5H5)] (1). Compound 1 was characterized by mass, IR, H-1, C-13 and P-31 NMR spectra. The X-ray crystal structure of 1 was determined.
