Synthesis and Structures of Cyclic and Acyclic Metallasiloxanes of Groups 5-7

Cyclic metallasiloxanes have been synthesized using t-Bu(2)Si(OH)(2) (1), O(t-Bu(a)SiOH)(2) (2), and O(Ph(2)SiOH)(2) (3) as starting materials. The molecular structures of [t-Bu(2)Si(O)(2)W(Nt-Bu)(2)](2) (4), {t-Bu(2)Si(O)(2)[Cp*Ta(Cl)](3)(mu(2)-Cl)(mu(2)-O)(2)(mu(3)-O)}.2C(7)H(8) (5) (CP* = eta 5-C-5(CH3)(5)t-Bu(2)- Si(O)2)(2)[(t-Bu(2)Si(OH)O)(2)Nb](2)[eta(5)-C(5)Me(4)EtNb(Cl)](mu(2)-Cl)(mu(2)-O)(2)(mu(3)-O).3/4C(7)H(8) (6), O(t-Bu(2)SiOReO(3))(2) (8), and [O(Ph(2)SiO)(2)]Mn-2(3)[N(SiMe(3))(2)](2)(THF)(2).1/2THF (11) have been determined by X-ray crystallography. Additionally, the cyclic molybdasiloxane [O(t-Bu(2)SiO)(2)MoO2](2) (10) has been characterized.
