    Irradiation of a toluene solution of[Ru(2)(CO)(6)-(mu-dppm)(mu-SiTol(2))] (1) in the presence of an excess of Tol(2)SiH(2) produced a Ai-silyl complex, [Ru(2)(CO)(5)(SiTol(2)H)-(mu-dppm)(mu-eta(2)-HSiTol(2))] (2), which was further converted to alpha mu-silane complex, [(Ru(CO)(2)(SiTol(2)H))(2)(mu-dppm)(mu-eta(2):eta(2)-H(2)SiTol(2))] (3), quantitatively. Complex 3 released Tol(2)SiH(2) in the presence of CO to regenerate 2, which finally reverted to 1 under thermal conditions. The X-ray crystal structures of 1 and 3 were determined.
