Differing metal connectivities are found for [HgFe2M(µ3-COMe)(CO)7(η-C5H5)}2](M = Co and Rh) in the solid state, whilst in solution 13C and 199Hg n.m.r. data suggest a novel polytopal rearrangement in the Rh compound with the Hg atom migrating around the Fe2Rh triangles.
