酸性染料是指分子结构中含有磺酸基、羧基或羟基等可溶性基团,在酸性或中性染浴中进行染色的一类染料。根据化学结构,它们可分为偶氮型、三苯甲烷型、蒽醌型、氧蒽型、亚硝基型和吡唑啉酮型等多种类型。
这类染料广泛应用于蛋白质纤维(如羊毛、蚕丝)及聚酰胺纤维的染色,因为它们对这些纤维具有直接性,需要在酸性溶液中进行染色。主要用于锦纶、羊毛、皮革、蚕丝等材料。
虽然酸性染料用于纸张的染色不如直接染料或碱性染料广泛,但其在羊毛、蚕丝、皮革及锦纶等材料上的应用非常普遍,能提供鲜艳且丰富的颜色。
强酸性染料由于分子较小,对羊毛纤维亲和力较低,需在pH≤4的强酸性染浴中进行染色。这类染料色泽鲜艳,匀染性良好,其化学结构类型主要包括偶氮型、蒽醌型、三芳甲烷型及氧蒽型等。例如:酸性嫩黄2G (C. I. 酸性黄17)、酸性蒽醌蓝(C. I. 酸性蓝25)、酸性湖蓝A (C. I. 酸性蓝7) 及酸性玫瑰红B (C. I. 酸性红52) 等。
相比之下,弱酸性染料分子结构较为复杂,含有较少的水溶性基团,对羊毛纤维具有较大的亲和力。它们可在弱酸性或近中性染浴中进行染色,并借助离子键与非极性范德华吸引力相结合。因此匀染性较差但耐洗牢度较好,被称为耐缩绒染料。常见的化学结构类型为偶氮型和蒽醌型,例如:弱酸性黑BR (C. I. 酸性黑24)、弱酸艳蓝RAW (C. I. 酸性蓝 80)。
此外,酸性媒介染料在染色前需使用金属媒染剂(如铬盐)处理,以生成染料-金属铬合物。这可以提高染料的耐晒和耐湿牢度。但这种染料的色调较暗、颜色不易控制且配色困难,染色过程较为繁琐。
酸性金属络合染料能够与某些过渡金属元素(如铜、络、钴等)形成内络合物。其区别于酸性媒介染料在于先生成染料-金属络合物再进行染色的过程,这使得操作更为简便。
