  A general synthesis for a novel class of chelating diphosphites [(R1O)2PO]2 SiR2R3 (R2 = R3 = Me; R2 = R3 = Ph; R2 = Me, R3 = Ph; R2 = Me, R3 = H; R2 = Me, R3 = -CH = CH2; R1 = Me, Et) is reported. These diphosphite compounds react with MnBr(CO)5 giving the complexes fac-MnBr(CO)3{[R1O)2PO]2SiR2R3}.
