FORMYLFERROCENYL-3-METHOXY-2-NAPHTHOYLHYDRAZONE AND ITS TRANSITION METAL COMPLEXES

A new organometallic ligand derived from ferrocene, formyl-ferrocenyl-3-methoxy-2-naphthoylhydrazone, and its transition metal complexes have been synthesized and characterized with elemental analyses, IR, (1) H NMR, UV-Vis and TG-DTA. The results indicate that the ligand changes from the ketone form to the enolic form when it coordinates to the metal ions, and the chelates are more thermostable than their ligand due to the formation of chelate rings.
