    The ligand-exchange reaction between {Pd(dmba)Cl}(2) (dmba = N,N-dimethylbenzylamine) and various oximes such as 3,4-(Me)(2)C6H3C(CH3)=NOH (1), 4-OMeC6H4C(CH3)-NOH (2), 4-BrC6H4C(CH3) =NOH (3) and alpha-tetrarone oxime (4) was studied. The products obtained were found to he chloro-bridged complexes. The reactions of these complexes were investigated with triphenylphosphine and acetylacetone. The resulting complexes were analysed by IR, H-1 NMR and C-13 NMR methods. For one of the complexes, [{Pd(4,5-(CH3)(2)C6H2C(CH3)=NOH)(Cl)}(2)] (1a), the structure was investigated by single crystal XRD. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
