of the reactions of Fe(CO)4X2 (X Br, I) with Y(YCO, P(C6H5)3, As(C6H5)3, Sb(C6H5)3, P(OC6H5)3 to yield the monosubstituted products FeY(CO)3X2 and disubstituted products FeY2(CO)2X2 is reported. The rate of formation of FeY(CO)3X2 does not depend on the concentration of Y, but the reaction is light catalysed and is inhibited by adding X2.
