  Ferrocenyl-containing chalcones containing pi-excessive heterocyclic fragments capable of electrochemical polymerization (carbazole, thiophene, 2,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) were prepared by the Claisen-Schmidt reaction. 2,4,6-Trisubstituted pyrimidines derived from them were synthesized.
