Tetravalent and Pentavalent Uranium Acetylide Complexes Prepared by Oxidative Functionalization with CuC≡CPh

Oxidation of (C5Me5)2U(NPh2)(THF) and (C5Me5)2U(═N-2,6-iPr2-C6H3)(THF) with CuC≡CPh yields the corresponding UIV and UV acetylide complexes (C5Me5)2U(NPh2)(C≡CPh) and (C5Me5)2U(═N-2,6-iPr2-C6H3)(C≡CPh), respectively. The complexes were characterized using a combination of 1H NMR, X-ray crystallography, UV−visible−near-IR spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry.
