Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Chiral Ferrocenylvinyl with Planar Chirality

(S-p)-1-vinyl-2-diphenylhydroxyl-methylferrocene was synthesized via a new method except the classical synthetic method and identified by H-1 NMR and MS. The structure of title compound was determined by X-ray crystallography. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the molecular structure of the title compound is Triclinic, P-1 space group, alpha = 9.0388(18) angstrom, b = 9.6024( 19) angstrom, c = 12.195(2) angstrom, alpha 5 84.98(3)degrees, beta = 73.19( 3)degrees, gamma = 72.38(3)degrees; V = 965.7(3) angstrom(3), D-x = 1.356 g cm(-3), Z = 2, T = 293( 2) K. Extinction coefficient is 0.0077(18).
