  The cyano-iridium-diiron complex [N(PPh3)(2)][8, 10[Ir(mu-PPh2)(CN)(Ph)(PPh3)1-8-(mu-H)-6,6,6,10,10-(CO)(5)-closo- 6,10,1-Fe2CB7H7] (3) has been synthesizedby reaction of a THF solution of [8,10-[Ir(mu-PPh2)(Ph)(CO)(PPh3)1-8-(mu-H)-6,6,6,10,10(CO)(5)-closo-6,10,1,Fe2CB7H7] (2) with [NEt4]CN in the presence of Me3NO, followed by metathesis with [N(PPh3)(2)]Cl. Compound 3 in CH2Cl2 with [CuCl(PPh3)](4) or [AuCl(PPh(3)A in the presence of TIPF6, yields [8,10-Ir(mu-PPh2)(Ph)-{(CN)M(PPh3)(n)](PPh3)1-8-(mu-H)-6,6,6,10,10-(CO)(5)-closo-6,10,1- Fe2CB7H7] (M = Cu, n = 2 (4) or M = An, n = 1 (5), respectively). The structures of 4 and 5 have been established by X-ray diffraction experiments.
