  The title compound, [ReNCl(CF3SO3)(C8H11P)(3)], is formed by the reaction of [ReNCl2(C8H11P)(3)] with excess trifluoromethanesulfonic acid, The phosphine Ligands are coordinated meridionally. The trifluoromethanesulfonate ligand is in a trans position with respect to the terminal nitrido N atom with an exceptionally long Re-O bond length of 2.403 (5) Angstrom, which is the result of the strong structural trans influence of 'N3-'.
