  The direct reactions of lithioferrocenes with 8-hydroxyquinoline led to the formation of the product ligands 2-ferrocenyl-8-hydroxyquinoline (7) and bis-[2-(8-hydroxyquinolinyl)]ferrocene (8). These ligands have been fully characterized and preliminary results have been obtained to compare their coordination chemistry with that of free 8-hydroxyquinoline.
