The NH4[SnF2(NCS)] compound was obtained and its structure was determined. The tin atom is surrounded by two fluorine atoms (Sn-F 2.060 Angstrom) and one nitrogen atom of the NCS group (Sn-N 2.351 Angstrom). The coordination polyhedron of tin(II) is a distorted trigonal pyramid with a stereochemically active lone electron pair at the vertex.
