  The new vinyl carbene salt [Ru(=CalphaHCbetaH=C-gamma-Ph-2)(CO)(S2CNMe2)(PPh3)(2)]PF6 (obtained from [RuH-Cl(CO)(PPh3)(3)], HC=CCPh2OH, Na[S2CNMe2], and HPF6) reacts with fluoride, alkoxide, borohydride and hydroxide at C-gamma to give gamma-functionalized sigma-vinyl complexes, but with dithiocarbamate salts, attach occurs at C, to provide the structurally characterized metallacycle [Ru(CH(CH=CPh2)SC(NMe2)S)(S2CNMe2)(CO)(PPh3)].
