Preparation of rhenium carbonyl chelates bearing mixed phosphorus-chalcogen ligands via ligand redistribution reactions

Chalcogenation of complex [Re(CO)3Ph2PCH2PPh2-κ-P}Ph2P(S)NP(S)Ph2-κ2-S,Ś}] (1) led to complexes [Re(CO)3Ph2PCH2P(E)Ph2-κ-P}Ph2P(S)NP(S)Ph2-κ2-S,Ś}], E = O, S, and Se (1a, 1b, 1c, respectively). Redistribution reactions between 1a and 1c and ReBr(CO)5 afforded complexes 2a – 2c, [ReBr(CO)3Ph2PCH2P(E)Ph2-κ2-P,E}], E = O, S, and Se, respectively. The BPMO Ph2PCH2P(O)Ph2 was obtained from complex 2a.
