  omega-Hydroxy-alkyl compounds of the type, [Fe(eta(5)-C5R5){(CH2)(n)CH2OH}(CO)(2)] (R=H and Me, n =2-5, 7) were prepared by the oxidative hydroboration of the appropriate eta(1)-alkenyl compounds of the general formula, [Fe(eta(5)-C5R5){(CH2)(n-1)CH=CH2}(CO)(2)].
