The reaction of sulfur with cyclohexene and Fe3(CO)12 in the ratio S/Fe3(CO)12, gives Fe4(CO)12S(SC6H9)2 with a yield of ca. 1% along with Fe2(CO)6S2, Fe3(CO)9S2, Fe2(CO)6(S2C6H10) and Fe2(CO)6(SC6H9)2. The structure of the tetranuclear complex was established by X-ray analysis.
