AbstractA novel, convenient and efficient copper‐catalyzed domino method for the synthesis of 4‐oxopyrimido[1,2‐a]indole derivatives has been developed, and the corresponding target products were obtained in moderate to good yields. The domino reactions involved sequential copper‐catalyzed intermolecular C‐arylation, intramolecular addition of NH to nitrile and nucleophilic attack of amino to carbonyl, and the obtained N‐(2‐halophenyl)‐3‐oxoalkanamides carry various functional groups.magnified image
