We describe a simple two-phase flowreactor which allows for the rapid synthesis of several Au(I)–NHC complexes in high yields (>88%), under mild conditions, and with minimal workup. Translation of the standard weak base method to a two-phase flow reaction prevents the common problem of decomposition to Au(0). Simple and efficient synthesis of [MCI(NHC)] (M = Au, Ag) complexes
A facile and efficient synthetic route leading to catalytically relevant N-heterocycliccarbene (NHC) goldcomplexes is described. The method consists of one pot synthesis starting from readily available imidazoliumsalts and [AuCl(tht)], in the presence of K2CO3. Using the same protocol NHC silver complexes have been synthesised starting from AgNO3.

The anti‐atherogenic (anti‐inflammatory) properties of various aurate(I) salts, of the general formula [NHC⋅H][AuCl2] (NHC=N‐heterocyclic carbene) were investigated.
