  The a-diimine nickel dibromo complex LNiBr2 (L = [(2,6-iPr(2)C(6)H(3))NC(Me))(2)) reacts with various amounts of potassium metal and phenazine (Phz) to afford the complexes [LNi(eta(4)-C-4-Phz)] (1) and [K(DME)](2)[(LNi)(2)(mu-eta(1):eta(1)-N-Phz)] (2), in which the Phz molecule adopts significantly different coordination modes with different oxidation states of Phz, Ni, and L.
