    The course of the reactions between complex OsH2Cl2((PPr3)-Pr-i)(2) (1) and the functionalized cyclopentadienyllithium derivatives Li[C5H4(CH2)(2)E] (E = NMe2 (2), OMe (3)) strongly depenas on the solvent used. Thus, in the presence of donor solvents such as THF, the salts [OsH2{eta(5)-C5H4(CH2)(2)E}((PPr3)-Pr-i)(2)][OsHCl2(CO)((PPr3)-Pr-i)(2)] (E = NMe2 [4][5], OMe [6][5]) with a carbonylated osmium anion are produced, while in hydrocarbon solvents the chloride salts [OsH2{eta(5)-C5H4(CH2)(2)E}(PPr3)(2)]Cl (E NMe2 [4]Cl, OMe [6]Cl) are formed.
