The synthetic route to obtain single crystals of dichloro{6, 6'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-[1,2-ethanediylbis(nitrilomethylidyne-N)]-4,4'-dimethyldiphenolato-O,O'}titanium(IV) is described. The X-ray analysis reveals that the title compound is a monomer with four molecules in the unit cell. There are only weak van der Waals-type forces between neighboring molecules. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c (No. 14). The Ti atom has a distorted octahedral coordination, with chloride ions in trans positions.
