Reaction of [WI2(CO)(NCMe)(η2-MeC2Me)2] with an equimolar quantity of triphos triphos=PhP(CH2CH2PPh2)2} in CH2Cl2 at room temperature gave the triphos complex [WI2(CO)(η2-MeC2Me)] (1). The crystal structure of (1) shows that the triphos is attached to the tungsten via two adjacent phosphorus atoms, with the third phosphorus atom uncoordinated. Two crystallographically independent molecules are present
