This contribution describes the synthesis and polymerization characteristics of the covalently linked heterobinuclear constrained-geometry polymerization catalyst (mu-CH2CH2-3,3'){(eta(5)-indenyl)[1-Me2Si((BuN)-Bu-t)](TiMe2) }{(eta(5)-indenyl)[1-Me2Si((BuN)-Bu-t)](ZrMe2)} (Ti1Zr1). When activated with Ph3C+B(C6F5)(-)(4), it is competent to produce long-chain (greater than or equal toC(6)) branched polyethylenes in ethylene homopolymerization, in sharp contrast to control experiments with mixtures of analogous but mononuclear Zr and Ti CGC catalysts.
