  Reaction of [CIP = N(2,4,6-(t-Bu)3C6H2)] (1) with Na[(eta-3-(2,4,6-(t-Bu)3C6H2)PC(H)P(2,4,6-(t-Bu)3C6H2))Fe(CO)3] (2) affords the novel 1-aza-2,3,5-triphosphapenta-1,4-diene complex [(eta-1,eta-1-Ar*P = C(H)P-(Ar*)P = NAr*)Fe(CO)3] (3; Ar* = 2,4,6-(t-Bu)3C6H2), the structural features of which are discussed in relation to those of a carbon analogue.
