  The complexes [OSH(eta3-C3H5)(CO)(PR3)2] (3, 4) have been prepared from [OsHCl(CO)(PR3)2] (1, 2) and C3H5MgBr in THF/ether in 75-80% yield. They are both stereochemically rigid on the NMR time scale. Although 3 is inert toward Lewis bases (CO, P(OMe)3), it smoothly reacts with CH3CO2H, HCl and HBF4/CH3CN to give [OsH(eta2-O2CCH3)(CO)(PiPr3)2] (5), [OsH2Cl2(CO)(PiPr3)2](6) and [OsH(CH3CN)2(CO)(PiPr3)2]BF4 (7), respectively.
