  The determination of the X-ray structure and formation constant of a Rh-III organometallic complex containing bis(salicylaldehyde)ethylendiiminate [(pyridine)Rh(salen)(adamantyl)], revealed a cis-influence on the axial metal-nitrogen bond significantly greater than that found in the analogous dimethylglyoximate. Comparison of the formation constants suggests that the stability of the hexacoordinate species with respect to the pentacoordinate species in Rh complexes is greater than that for Co complexes.
