  Some mixed alkyl-carbamates of formula [M(4)R(2)(O(2)CNEt(2))(6)] (M = Zn, R = Me or Et; M = Cd, R = Me) have been synthesized and characterized. The single crystal structure of [Zn(4)Me(2)(O(2)CNEt(2))(6)] consists of an unusual tetranuclear molecule with a plane of zinc atoms. The compound [Zn(4)Me(4)(O(2)CNEt(2))(4)] has also been prepared. Its structure is based on an approximately tetrahedral arrangement of zinc atoms.
