  The synthesis of C-60-attached SCS ligands ([C6H2(CH2SPh)(2)-2,6-R-4](-)) is described. Starting from 4-formyl-SCS-H (2), 1,2-methanofullerene and fulleropyrrolidine SCS ligands were obtained. Subsequent palladation with [Pd(MeCN)(4)](BF4)(2) afforded the corresponding palladium(II) complexes. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
