  X-ray structures of new [ReCl3(pzH)(2)(PPh3)] and [ReCl3(3,5-Me(2)pzH)(2)(PPh3)] complexes (pzH = pyrazole) have been determined, and the geometric parameters of [ReCl3(pzH)(2)(PPh3)] have been examined using density functional theory (DFT) method. The UV Vis spectra of the complexes have been discussed on the basis of the electronic transitions of [ReCl3(pzH)(2)(PPh3)] calculated with time-dependent DFT method (TDDFT). (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd.
