Solutions of metal pentahalides and niobium oxide trichloride in benzene under anhydrous conditions gave crystalline compounds of general formula MX5(bipy) and NbOCl3(bipy). Solutions of metal pentachlorides in ether under anhydrous conditions gave crystalline complexes of formula Nb2OCl8(bipy)2 and

  2,2'-联吡啶（联吡啶）在各种条件下与NbX 5（X = F，Cl或Br），TaX 5（X = Cl或Br）和三氧化二铌反应生成不同类型的混合配体配合物。在无水条件下，金属五卤化物和三氯化铌在苯中的溶液得到通式为MX 5（联吡啶）和NbOCl 3（联吡啶）的结晶化合物。在无水条件下，金属五氯化物在乙醚中的溶液得到式Nb 2 OCl 8（bipy）2和Ta 4 OCl 18（bipy）4的晶体配合物。五氯化铌在乙醇中的溶液，含有少量的受控量的水，得到稳定的式NbOCl 2（OR）（bipy）的结晶化合物。电解还原五氯化铌和联吡啶在醇中的溶液，得到式Nb 2 Cl 5（OR）3（bipy）2的结晶顺磁性配合物。通过分析，X射线粉末照片，红外光谱和磁化率测量对化合物进行表征。
