Trivalent lanthanide complexes of the general formula [Ln(Habth)(2)Cl-2]Cl [Ln = La(III), Pr(III), Nd(lII), Sm(IlI), Eu(III), Gd(II), Tb(III) and Dy(lII); Habth = 2-aminobenzo-phenone-2-thenoylhydrazone] were prepared and characterized using magnetic moments, molar conductance and UV-VIS, IK and emission spectroscopy.
