Two series of organometallic complexes, 1−6 and 7−11, which contain a (thiophene)Mn(CO)3+ fragment in the end group were synthesized for nonlinear optical chromophores, and their second-order nonlinear optical properties were measured by the HRS method. These complexes were found to possess promising hyperpolarizabilities.
