accessible chiral sulfinamide 2 has been developed as the first highly efficient and enantioselectiveorganocatalyst relying solely on a chiral sulfur center for stereochemical induction. Organocatalysts for the asymmetric reduction of ketimines are presented that function well at low catalyst loadings providing chiral amines in good yield and enantioselectivity, the latter appearing to be independent of the ketimine substrate geometry.

The present application describes a novel type of picolinamide-cinchona organocatalyst that allows for the successful transformation of ketimines to chiral amines with very high enantioselectivities and with the highest TOFs reported for any particular organocatalyst to date. These organocatalysts have also been immobilized to a variety of solid supports, including magneto-nanoparticles.

Herein we describe the synthesis of a new class of chiral phosphine-oxazolines and their application as ligands in iridium-catalyzed hydrogenations. Mechanistic aspects of olefin hydrogenation with this class of iridiumcatalysts are discussed and a selectivity model to help rationalize the results obtained is also presented.
