The complex [(OC)(4)Re(OH2)(2)](+) reacts with oxalate and squarate to give the complexes [(OC)(4)Re(OH2)2]C2O4 (1) and [(OC)(4)Re(OH2)(2)]C4O4 (2). The reaction of (OC)(2)(PPh(3))(2)Ru(FBF3)(2) with potassium salts of cu-aminoacids (glycine, L-alanine, L-phenylalanine) yields cationic ruthenium complexes with chelating aminoacidates (3-5). With acetylacetonate the complex [(OC)(2)(PPh(3))(2)Ru(acac)I[BF4] (16) is obtained. Nitriles and isonitriles give the complexes [(OC)(4)Re(N=C-R)(2)][BF4] (6: R = Me; 7: R = CH(2)CO(2)Et), [(OC)(2)(PPh(3))(2)Ru(N=C-R)(2)I[BF4](2) (8: R = Me, 9: R = p-C(6)H(4)OMe), [(OC)(4) Re(C=N-R)(2)][BF4] (10: R = (CH2)(3)Me; 11: R = CH(2)CO(2)Et) and [(OC)(2)(PPh(3))(2)Ru(C=N-R)2][BF4](2) (12: R = CH(2)CO(2)Et; 13: R = C6H11), respectively. With thioethers (OC)(4)Re(OEt(2))FBF3 forms the complexes [(OC)(4)Re(Ph-S-CH2-S-Ph)][BF4] (14) and [(OC)(4) Re(HO-(CH2)(2)-S(CH2)(2)-S-(CH2)(2)OH)][BF4] (15).
