Cationic trigonal bipyramidal complexes of the type [PtRL(NN′)(olefin)]BF4 with various hydrocarbyl (R), neutral monodentate (L), and bidentate nitrogen (NN′) ligands have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, and 1H NMR spectroscopy.
