  The synthesis and photophysical properties of new metallo-octabutoxynaphthalocyanines with Rh(III), WM), and Pt(II) are reported. Various metals were inserted into the metal-free octabutoxynaphthalocyanine and the resultant metal complexes were fully characterized by NMR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.The absorption and emission properties of these new complexes were also examined and compared to those of Co(II), Ni(II), and Pd(II) octabutoxynaphthalocyanines. The results provide useful information to understand the effect of these transition metals on the properties of this macrocyclic ring. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
