  The crystal structure of the title compound, [SnBr2(C2H5)(2)(C3H4N2S)(2)], comprises discrete all-trans octahedral [SnBr(2)Et(2)(Himt)(2)] units (Himt = imidazol-2-thione) with the Sn atom coordinated to two ethyl C atoms [Sn-C = 2.158 (7) Angstrom], two Br atoms [Sn-Br = 2.759 (3) Angstrom], and two Himt S atoms [Sn-S = 2.771 (2) Angstrom]. The structural parameters suggest the presence of an intermolecular N-H ... Br hydrogen bond.
