square-planar IrXL2(PR3) complexes with HSnR3 have been studied. The oxidative addition of HSnPh3 to the complexes IrCI(TFB)(PR3) (TFB = tetrafluorobenzobarrelene, PR3 = PCy3 (2), PiPr3 (3), iPr2PCH2CH2OMe (4)) leads to the hydrido-stannyl derivatives IrClH(SnPh3)(TFBXPR3)(PR3 = PCy3 (5), PiPr3 (6), iPr2PCH2CH2OMe (7)), while the reactions of 2 and 3 with HSnnBu3 afford IrH2(SnnBu3)(TFB)(PR3) (PR3 = PCy3 (8)
